14.05.2008 | Free concert of an African band.

Enfants du Monde invited the “Wamdé” company from Burkina Faso. The band will offer a performance including music, singing and African dances at 9 PM on Friday the 16th of May 2008 at the Moulin à Danse (MAD) in Geneva (rue de Stand 20 bis).

The “Wamdé” company consists of 24 boys and girls between 10 and 17 years old from underprivileged environments of Burkina Faso. By supervising them, the Wamdé project offers future perspectives to these children. They present dances and tales from traditional daily life in West Africa – rites of passage to adulthood or acrobatic dances for instance.

Recognized for the quality of their shows, the Wamdé children perform abroad every year. Through the years, Mali, Togo, Morocco, France, Switzerland, Denmark, England and Spain consequently became preferential partners.

Seize this opportunity and come see this free performance, enjoyed by more than 6000 people in Switzerland last year!
