News03.09.2008 | "Trough the Eyes of Childhood" Exhibition in German speaking SwitzerlandThe exhibition "Trough the Eyes of Childhood" will be on tour in the German speaking part of Switzerland from the 1st to the 27th of September 2008 at the Karl der Grosse centre. During its inauguration on September 3rd, Mrs. Corina Casanova, federal chancellor and member of the EdM comity, opened the exhibition "Trough the Eyes of Childhood" in Zurich, the first step of this tour in the German part of Switzerland. In her speech, by comparisons with her own childhood in the Grisons, she emphasized the importance of children’s chances equality. She congratulated the work done by Enfants du Monde in the educational domain, through diverse training projects that the most underprivileged children of our world can benefit from "Although the pictures expressing poverty convey sadness, thoses expressing the future allow us to hope. What will be determining will be that these children’s dreams for the future can actually come true”. Mr. Carlo Santarelli, general secretary of Enfants du Monde, expressed the importance of being present in the German part of Switzerland as well, because half of the members and donators come from this region, even though the association is anchored in the French part of Switzerland. The "Trough the Eyes of Childhood" exhibition thus is an excellent means as it is more and more successful in the French part of Switzerland. We would like to warmly thank the social-cultural centre Karl der Grosse, which offers a particularly adequate setting for this exhibition and whose social preoccupations lead to the emergence of thoughts and sharing ideas in society. This is also the intention of EdM's exhibition: to generate thoughts and idea exchanges in society. Next stop of the tour: Kornhausforum, Bern – from the 1st to the 24th of December 2009. Winterthur (Alte Kaserne) in the spring of 2010.
