What is the impact of Covid-19 on the children and young people who benefit from our Education and Health programs ? The implementation of our activities is being adapted, and constantly reviewed according to the evolution of the situation. Here is the current state of play:

In Guatemala, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Benin, the schools we support are currently closed and teacher trainings are on hold. We are already thinking about alternative solutions - such as educational radio broadcasts for children to continue to get their lessons, or online training for teachers. In addition, our teams are preparing specific educational material for when schools reopen.

Schools are closed because of covid19 pandemicIn Haiti, El Salvador, Burkina Faso, Bangladesh, our health activities for pregnant women and newborns can be continued in health centers, with all the necessary precautionary measures. However, health education activities in communities have been put on hold. In Bangladesh, our local partner is already remotely training health workers and informing the population about preventive measures against coronavirus, using for example video messages in local language on handwashing and social distancing.

In Switzerland, all of our awareness-raising activities about children's rights in schools have been postponed until the start of the school year 2020-21. The Enfants du Monde team is currently working on teaching materials and on an online platform.

The team at headquarters in Geneva works from home and is available by email at , by phone at +41 22 798 88 81 from Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm and on Facebook.

More than ever we need your support to help us carry out our mission. Donations are indeed decreasing for Enfants du Monde and other organisations, due to the containment linked to Covid-19 (street fundraising campaigns are cancelled, etc.).

Make a gift now to support our activities!

We are fully mobilized, and we will keep you regularly informed of the implications of this crisis on our programs.
